  • Braving the cold

I don't know why I did this, but I decided to brave the cold and did some shopping.

I surprised myself my walking around Soho in 14 degree (-10 degrees Celsius) weather. Maybe it's the tall buildings blocking the wind, but I don't feel particularly uncomfortable at all. There's enough sun to keep me warm.

That kind of remind me a psychological just for fun test I took years ago. I only remember this answer: Winter sun means that you are cool on the outside but warm on the inside. That wasn't the answer I picked, but the answer stuck to my mind.

Today I am inspired. Feeling the warmth of the winter sun, I thought to myself, how many times we didn't make the effort to brave the cold and really get to know someone? I always hear complaints about the cool person not reaching out. What about ourselves? Did we make the effort to break the ice? If we don't succeed at first, do we try, try again?

  • Deficit

I have so many things to say, and I have nothing to say.

There was a post-Thanksgiving miracle, and then, a post-Christmas miracle.  Maybe the two miracles will cancel each other and become a curse...I know I am being pessimistic, but hey...

I think I am having attention deficit disorder.  I can't even concentrate on one thing to be outraged about on the news.  Should I be enraged by Madoff's Ponzie scheme?  Should I feel a head rush with new problems between Hamas and Israel?  Should there be wrath that Hank Paulson took the bailout money and ran?

Or, should I even be angrier about a guy who is denied from admission to the emergency room and died because registration insisted that the person should be carried by an ambulance rather than his son's car?

  • Automat!

Only heard about as my boss's childhood stories, the day of meeting the real McCoy has finally come...automat!

Sadly, due to crazy amount of inflation, hot dogs are no longer fifty cents.  But chicken quesadillas are three dollars, if there's any comfort in this.

    Bamn!! Automat

  • Done

I just handed in my last project for the semester, and for the degree.

There were days where I just want to walk out and quit.  There were days when I wanted to throw up my arms and give up.  I didn't do any of that.

Now the day finally has come, I'm at a lost and starting to miss those days.  Am I such a masochist?

The coming months are going to be scary.  I have a job now, but finding that job that pays better so that I can buy property, that's a different story, especially this job market.

I used to be afraid to leave my workplace, during the times when good jobs are readily available.  Now that I'm no longer afraid to leave, the job market sucks.  What irony!
